自從有電腦，就已經有人工智能的研發。去年初我在 Podcast 講這個題目的時候，甚至有些很厲害的讀者問：「人工智能還有甚麼好講？不如去講量子電腦吧。」
有人覺得，人工智能不外如是，在可見將來他們的工作都不會被取代。亦有人覺得人工智能很厲害，有意識的機器遲早會奴役人類。
最近一年，可以見到人工智能以極速普及，而我感興趣的是：「人工智能的普及會怎樣影響人類社會？我們又可以怎樣去應用這些工具」
01，首先，論氣力論速度，人類從來都不是地球上最厲害的生物。人類甚至不是唯一會用工具的動物。人類真正的生存能力，來自我們學習的能力。
02，自從有語言，人類可以將學習得來的知識，交流、廣傳。有了圖畫和文字，人類更可以將學習得來的知識記下來。知識的傳遞和累積，是人類進化的一大突破；自此人類才真正擺脫生物的限制，可以改變環境。
03，之後就是印刷術讓文字可以大量複製，也加速了知識的傳遞和累積。知識的普及，促成了資本主義和工業革命。工業革命，說穿了就是將技術普遍地應用在經濟生產。
04，雖然在古代農業社會，一樣有各種手作工藝和耕種的知識，但嚴格來說過去的勞動力，就是真的像字面所解的一樣，是體力的輸出。有些社會，懂得利用牛馬等動物取代人力；但始終有很多工作，還是要由人去做。
05，話說工業革命之後，最大轉變就是人不再是勞動力。雖然當時世界各地仍然有奴隸制度，但依賴人力的經濟，頓時比了下去。甚至乎美國 1860 年的統一戰爭，其中之一個導火線，就是奴隸。所以，不要以為工業革命影響的只是經濟，其實政治、文化等，也同時之間在劇變。
06，很多人將「知識改變命運」這句話掛在嘴邊，但實情是普及教育只是十九世紀中後的事。在過去的世界，很多知識是靠口耳相傳；口耳相傳的知識，可以承載的資訊量很有限，而且也經常誤傳和失傳。
07，到十九世紀之後，除了文字，唱片和電影將聲音和影像儲存起來。另一邊廂，電報、電話、電台和電視，透過大氣電波傳遞文字、聲音甚至是影像。廿世紀的政治、經濟和社會高速發展，除了是因為人類發現了能源的應用，更重要是知識的普及進入另一個層次。
08，雖然早在十九世紀就有「計算機」，但資訊科技是第二次大戰後才漸漸出現。電腦最初會儲存和傳遞文字，後來到多媒體，同時電腦和電腦之間經互聯網連接在一起。
09，由印刷術到互聯網，資訊傳遞的效率和技術，似乎已經接近完美的狀態。下一個突破，就是人工智能。很多人都說現在的世界資訊泛濫，而解決這個問題的唯一方法，就人工智能。
10，從前是我們學習電腦語言，目的是要控制機器。如今卻是電腦學習我們的語言，處理海量的資訊，讓我們更了解自己。
11，有追蹤我的 Facebook 和 Twitter 的朋友都應該知道，我近來很喜歡用人工智能作畫寫詩。其實除了好玩，我也嘗試用這個方法去了解不同的藝術風格是甚麼。由印象派的風格畫一張香港的街景，再用超現實的手法，畫同一個題材；對比之下就可以見到不同風格是甚麼一回事。
12，有些人捉錯用神，將重點放在「機械能否取代人類」。從來都是「懂得使用工具的人」，取代「不懂得使用工具的人」。明白嗎？機械不能取代人類，是人類取代人類。而所謂的人工智能，更正確的講法「機器學習」。
13，「假如連學習都交給機器，人類還剩下甚麼意義？」以前我沒有想過自己會學視覺藝術，但在這短短幾個月，我覺得自己學會了很多構圖、著色、光線的技法。雖然我不懂得拿畫筆去作畫，但幾個星期下來，文字作畫的經驗至少讓我懂得讀畫。
14，學習最重要的過程，是嘗試。機器學習，是一個低成本的實驗方法。再強調一次，人工智能程式給你的不是答案，而是一個低成本的方法去測試你的想法。再舉個例子，有很多人用 ChatGPT 直接問問題，然後得出似是而非的答案，就說人工智能沒有用，但其實是他們搞錯了 Generative Pre-Trained Transformer 。
15，Generative 就是「有創造力」，Pre-Trained 的意思是機器從大量的文獻學習人類的語言習慣，Transformer 的意思就是「將輸入的指令變成答案」。好，以下是正確使用的例子。但在此之前，先讓我給大家一個錯誤的示範，例如：
為甚麼中國這麼窮？
說中國窮是不准確的。 中國是一個人口眾多、經濟多元化的國家。 雖然中國的人均 GDP 確實低於其他一些國家，但它也是近幾十年來經濟取得顯著進步的國家。 40年來，中國經濟快速增長，數億人擺脫了貧困。 今天，中國是世界第二大經濟體，是許多富人和富人的家園。
16，可能這個答案，已經令人覺得 GPT-3 不錯；不同意的人，甚至懷疑是否背後有甚麼立場。但這絕非使用 GPT 的最佳方法。
17，那麼應該怎樣用 GPT-3？我試試用以下的指令

20，從前有機會讀書、聽課，已經是「受過教育」。有一段很長的日子，普及教育的意思，就是對大人和小朋友的腦袋填充資訊。但真正的知識份子，從來都要有自己的見解，能夠推陳出新。這個標準，其實從來都如是。所以，用 GPT 直接搵答案，是捉錯了用神。這個工具是用來做文字的 Transformation。
